Act 2 - Chapter 3 - New Plans and New Planes.... (2021-04-24)

 

  • We arrive at the Plane of Elemental Chaos which is currently in the Elemental Air phase:

    • We are floating in the sky

    • Raz'I'el informs us that:

      • We are after an elemental node for a special enchantment she is doing

      • The each day the plane may shift to a different element

      • We may see elementals

    • Raz'I'el does a ritual to track the elemental node's location

      • Says it is about 20 miles away in "that" direction. (2-3 days)

      • She suggests we fly quietly

    • Lotty and Cade discuss possibly building Cade 2 more arms

    • Lotty loses Nessie even though she was riding Nessie

      • She was flying off in the distance toward a storm cloud

      • We get Nessie back without incident

    • Cade notices some clouds are following us

      • They eventually attack as 2 Air Elementals

      • The group was able to defeat them

    • Cade grows a Tiny Hut for them to stay overnight

      • Since it was in the air, we tied ourselves together to make sure we did not drift apart.

      • During the night 2 Air Elements create a burst of wind to knock us out.

        • The group was tangled in the rope afterwards

        • The group killed them

    • Raz'I'el made a floor for the next Tiny Hut and the group got a good rest

  • Group woke up with the Plane of Elemental Chaos switching to the Elemental Fire Phase:

    • They fell out of the sky but Raz'I'el cast feather fall on them

    • They are heading toward a dark mountain that is off in the distance.

    • They got hit by a pocket of lava

      • Managed to find solid ground and put the fire out

    • There was very thick fog

    • They needed to hide, with Pass without a Trace, from an army of elements passing by.

Act 2 - Chapter 2: Tea with Dolosius' Father's Friend and a Ring of Fire (2021-04-17)


  • Walking through the slums after meeting with Raz'i'el we found ourselves surrounded by ring of fire with a 12' tall fiendish creature who has dominated the mind of X2.  He wields a great sword and has 2 large dragon like wings behind him.

    • The Fiend causes everyone to have bursts of anger where they may attack others randomly.

    • The fight ensues…

    • After the fight the Demon reduces to ash but leaves behind his sword.  When X2 touches the sword it explodes injuring us all, wreaking nearby buildings, and killing Elric

    • Cade uses revivify to raise Elric.

  • The group heads to Remmy's tavern, The Last Stand Inn,

    • Elric meditate/trance to alleviate his exhaustion from being dead.

    • Cade watches over Elric while the rest of the group grabs drinks.

    • Dolosius talked about the incident

      • he knew nothing of that monster but the monster knew about him

      • The monster communicated that Dolosius' father wanted Dolosius to come back with the monster

      • Dolosius' father died so does not believe that this is his real father

        • It would also be unlike his biological father to send a creature like this

      • Dolosius says he has a brother and sister

        • He does not feel they would welcome his company

  • Group the discusses mission with Raz'I'el

    • It is going to another plane

    • She will give us 10k gp

    • She will let us hold on to a scroll to teleport back

    • But will not give us more information until we start

    • Group agreed it seemed shady

    • Lotty wants to ask her if we need any specific supplies

  • Lotty tries to mother Elric by tucking him in, but Cade fixes it after she leaves.

    • Lotty looks through his stuff to see if he needs a healing potion

      • Finds a note that is Elric's will saying if he dies all his belongings should go to his cousin in Mastinista

  • Remy rolls into Elric's room without knocking

    • Remy mentions he knows about the explosion and heard we may have been involved

      • He says people died

    • Cade mentions:

      • there was a giant demon that attacks us, and his sword exploded.

      • Had to revivify Elric

      • Apologized for people getting hurt

    • Remy says only the "Divine Pansophical" can make the soul gems

      • But they can often be bought in Arcane shops

    • Remy says he is glad Elric is alive but is upset that Elric heard it.

  • Lotty, Dol, and X2 head to her dad's new shop, Mc'Fini's Fine Emporium in the Omni Market

    • Lotty's dad gives X2 a mechanical bird that X2 chases around the shop

    • Got a Dispel scroll and gave it to Dolosius

  • Lotty, Dol, and X2 went to Magda's for healing potions for several group members

  • The group had a long rest

    • Elric is no longer exhausted

  • Cade starts mothering Elric given his recent brush with death

  • Elric starts asking Dol questions

    • Elric mentions he has heard that warlocks make pacts with creatures

      • Dol thinks the master of what they fought might be that creature

    • Elric asks "You made a pact with a creature that you don't know?"

      • Dol said he did, that he needed more power at the time and made a pact with something he does not know.

    • Elric said he thinks we should kill it

  • The group gives some money to the families that were hurt by the explosion

  • The group makes it back to Aberrant Arcana and meets Raz'I'el

    • She meets us in the street and asks if we are ready

    • Without asking any more questions the group agrees to go with her, they hold hands and are off to some other unknown plane…

Act 2 - Chapter 1: New Friends (10-04-2021)


  • Downtime Study
    • Remmi got rid of Slavery and Narcotics in Sierrona
    • All other cartels have joined together to form the Ulvari Cartel
  • Summoned to see Remmi and go to meet him through Last Stand Inn
    • Remmi has additional guards.
    • Area has been repainted to be lighter whites and blues, throne replaced with fountain.
    • Remmi was wounded going into the vault by a curse of Vai and lost his eye and use and feelings of his legs.  Some other people died when trap went off.
      • Frug McFini built the wheel chair
    • Near a large box covered in purple cloth
    • Rhone is there in near armor and weapons
    • Cade makes a reconciliation speech to Remmi and they shake hands.
      • Remmi admits we had reasons not to fully trust him but both agree to put it behind them.
    • Cade mentions letter they found of Vai
      • Tells Remmi the letter asked her if she found "The Shard" yet
      • Showed him Sigil signature:
        • Remmi showed to blonde woman, Mira, with a staff and she said
          • She cast a spell on it but found it warded but wanted to study it further
          • Looked "Aeonian in nature"
      • Mentioned it was in the floor of Vai's room but her room was trapped.
      • Remmi agreed to share information on Vai if he finds any but he is more focused on protecting the city.
    • Remmi mentions that the Ulvari Cartel knows we had something to do with the Massasni Cartel so is after us and that we are known as "The Liberators of Sierrona"
    • Elric asks about Mishibi relationship but Remmi said "not enemy but not friend"
      • Remmi says they were pushed out of Sierrona about 5 years after cataclysm.
    • Remmi confirms the Voodists Cartel is now part of the Ulvari Cartel
      • Lotty shows Arnon's image on a tile and Remmi tries to scry him
        • Called him a "goober"
        • Found him by scrying in a tavern near the ocean but did not recognize the location.  Surrounded by other "thugs".  He was laughing and drinking.
        • Lotty thinks he to the northernmost town on the coast (Palirano)
    • Elric asks about the cage under the purple cloth
      • Remmi pulls the blanket aside:
        • It was a cage with blue arcane field of stasis
        • Inside is Experiment 2 floating inside:
        • 6'-1" creature with tentacle hair, hands have spider like claws, skin is translucent blue and can see bones underneath, scale mail on, has Glaive and backpack on.
        • Dolosius detects thoughts on creature
          • Surface Thoughts: hungry, cold, afraid
          • Deeper Probe: image of person injecting Experiment 2 with a chemical and casting spells on it and it hurts Experiment 2.  Has anger to that person as well as Stockholm syndrome.
        • Dolosius, Lotty, Remmi, and Mira try to free it and the field collapses and cage explodes
          • Lotty's snare held the monster up in the air.
    • Experiment 2 wakes up and is scared and looking for Master
    • Everyone tries to calm him down and tell him that they are friends and he doesn’t have a master.
    • Experiment 2 eats Cade's goodberry
    • Experiment 2 says he often is made to sleep and then when he wakes up in a new area his Master would make him hurt people.
    • Says his Master sometimes appears to him as various races but usually in a white coat
    • Remmi gives the group the items he promised
    • Lotty received a Pearl of Power
    • Elric received an Amulet of Proof against Detection and Location
    • Experiment received an Immovable Rod
    • Cade received a Staff of Healing
    • Dolosius receive the Rod of the Pact Keeper
  • Group goes for breakfast in the Last Stand
    • Lotty drags Elric aside and questions him about what Remmi previously said
    • Group sits down an chats a bit
    • Experiment 2 plays with Immovable Rod and locks it in place then gets in staring contest with Cade's cat
    • Decides to check out the Aberrant Arcana job and then follow up on the Tullis with Magda
    • Group also talks about going down the coast to visit Marcus for the trade of information he promised as well as visiting some of the islands.
  • Group goes to Aberrant Arcana
    • Group remembers it left Experiment 2's Immovable Rod back in the Last Stand, Dolosius doesn’t want to go inside Aberrant Arcana so goes back for the rod.
    • Raz'i'el tries to look into Experiment 2's mind by "pouring herself into his mind" but is violently expelled  since he is warded causing injury to Raz'i'el
    • She confirms she still has a job available but wants us to come back when we are ready.
      • It will be a several week job.
      • The job is outside of this plane.
    • Elric asks about his sword
      • The sword is a fate touched item
      • Has protections on it
      • Connected to one of the fallen gods
      • Needs to be taken to Belen's Folly in the Lands of Desolations to discover more secrets about it.
    • Buys a Dispel Magic Scroll, given to Cade
  • Dolosius plays poker
    • When Dolosius gets back to the Last Stand a group has put the immovable rod on a table and is playing poker for it.
    • Dolosius joins them to try and win the rod back.
    • Dolosius loses some gold but then realizes it was to Remmi
    • Remmi allows Dolosius to still take the Rod
  • Group goes to Magda's Maladies and Mixtures
    • Cade and Experiment 2 are fascinated with the odd plants that have mouths in the shop
    • Elric gives Experiment 2 the previously cursed box with a skull on it to play with.
    • Elric follows up with Magda about previous dagger the group gave her and follow up if she knew more.
      • Elric asked about Tuli's and Magda said she was looking into it and heard they may be gone.
      • Elric listed he knew 3, one with the dagger, bracelet, …and another one.
        • The Mishibi's killed the one in Cipado
      • Elric asked about a Tuli horde
      • Magda said the Tulis took something of hers and she wants it back.
      • Magda said she discovered information that they may be out in the Gleaming Sea on an Island.  SE of Sierrona
        • Offered job to retrieve a book, leather bound tomb with a big lock on it, listening to the book you will hear listening.
          • For 10k gp
        • She doesn't believe they are all dead, and is sure the Matriarch of the family, Roina, has the item.  She has no idea where they may keep it, it may be on Roina.
        • She feels they are powerful, each one is as powerful as Morrow Massasni
          • Suggested not fighting all at once and advises caution.
        • She says they stole the book from her when one of the Tulis pretended to be in love with her.
          • Lotty believes that there is truth to that story but there is more to it than that.
      • Elric asks about other islands in the gleaming sea and asks Magda about other island whose shape matches the outline he has.  Magda feels it is a different Island.
      • Magda does not feel she has seen anything like Experiment before but will look into it and will consult some colleges.
  • Group discusses where to go and they decide to go with the Aberrant Arcana job.
  • Group goes back to Aberrant Arcana
    • Says we will head out there tomorrow.
    • The group will receive 10k gp for helping her.
    • Will let us hold on to a scroll that can get us back.
    • Elric wants to buys boots of Elven Kind from Raz'i'el for the Exaltium ring + 500 gp.
  • A friend of Dolosius shows up
    • As we exit the Aberrant Arcana a 12' tall demon shows up in the street
    • Dolosius recognizes from his dreams
    • Demon points at Dolosius
    • Casts Dominate on Experiment 2
      • Experiment is under the demon's control
    • Casts Ring of Fire around us
