Act IV, Chapter Twenty Six "Practically Perfect in every way" (09/02/2025)

The Ashen Company collectively hear the voice of The One That Watches in their heads; "You have gathered my attention, it has been quite some time since the cycle has done so well" Ashen Company are asked what it is that they're fighting for.

Lotty, angry as ever, steps up and shouts that they're fighting for everything and everyone. Having got the eye's attention it invites the group to enter into it's domain, neither as ally nor enemy but explains that walking through the rift - that it now produces - their essence will be unmade and remade.

Of course, our heroes will take every opportunity to save the world and walk on through the rift; as they do so the very fabric of their being is unmade. No longer bound by flesh and bone, they each see visions of other lives that could have been before coming back to themselves whole again but different.

Each of the Ashen Company take something from one of these former versions of themselves they have seen, becoming slightly stronger, slightly more adept, slightly more.

They find themselves surrounded by swirling masses of constellations, floating islands of broken worlds, statues of gods they've never known, the stars in the sky seemed not to twinkle but pulse in place.

The One That Watches tells the Ashen Company to look around it's domain learn what they can learn and if it is satisfied with the Ashen Company's progress it will grant an audience. It explains that time outside of this domain will not pass, nothing will change in the fight against air attacks.

Moving around this space seems to require willpower of the mind rather physical movement I think we all follow Flynn towards the largest structure he can see. Inside the structure is a large Chamber of mechanical structures, holographic equations seemed to fly across the skies as if information or messages were being transmitted. In the centre of the room there's a face of pure light watching as the ashen company walk in they present a calm and absolute voice and advised the group to define the perfect world warning that incorrect input will result in re processing.

Each time the Ashen Company present a facet of a perfect world; no hunger, no suffering, progression the face twists the ideals and like wishing on a monkey paw adds a less than perfect ideal to the mix. When the consequence ideal is reject the face sends each hero away with a dose of feeble mind. Several Greater restoration scrolls later Berrick, Flynn & Lotty decide to try and tinker with the machinery. Combining Berrick's intelligence, Lotty's mechanical skills and Flynn's language abilities they manage to reprogramme the machine to accept the answer that there is no such thing as a perfect world.

Less eager to feeble mind everyone the face asserts they will now answer any questions they group has.
